I’m having a problem signing up to the site
| If you have entered your username and e-mail address on the sign-up page and you get a time-out error - don’t panic! This is quite a common error - it just means that the communication between the web site and the mail server timed out within 30 seconds and so, while your account has been created, the system has not sent you the password.
To rectify this, you can go to the Lost password page and key in your username and email address again. The system should then e-mail you a web address which, when you go to it, will make the site reset your password and e-mail the new password to you. If, for some reason, this doesn’t work or you have a different problem with signing up, please contact the site administrator. |

How do I embed videos in my article?
| ShiteDrivers.com uses a plugin to display YouTube videos inline. First of all, the video will need to be up on the YouTube web site. You will have to sign-up for an account on the site to upload your own video. Full instructions are provided there for uploading the video. To then embed your video in your ShiteDrivers.com article, use the [youtube] tag, as follows: This: [youtube:http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=pp_m9c78Nb4] Will produce this: [youtube:http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=pp_m9c78Nb4] |
Am I allowed to name bad drivers or show their registration plate?
| Absolutely not. We do not want any clearly identifying traits of people or vehicles shown. This site is for giving examples of bad driving, NOT for naming and shaming bad drivers. |
How do I put just an excerpt of my article on the home page with the full text on the article’s own page?
You can do by this using the <!–more–> tag in your article. In the Visual Editor, this is represented by this button:  . Clicking this button or putting “<!–more–>” into your article will make all the text up to that point appear as an excerpt on the home page with a “continue reading” link going to the rest of the article. We would recommend this for long articles in order to keep the home page neat looking. If you post a long article without using the more tag, it may be added by an Editor or Administrator. I posted a comment to the site but it didn’t appear. Why is that?
| We get a huge amount of spam comments on ShiteDrivers.com, and we have spam filtering scripts in place in an effort to stop them.
Unfortunately, as there is no such thing as a ‘perfect anti-spam solution’, some legitimate comments will be caught by these scripts and marked as spam. When this happens, they won’t appear on the site and will be scheduled for automatic deletion. If this happens to one of your comments, do not try to enter the comment again as the spam script will only catch it again. Instead, please contact the site administrator as soon as possible with details of your comment, including the name, email and web address you used when posting it, and we will search for your comment and restore it for you. |
If I see an offensive post or comment, how do I report it?
| We used to have a comment reporting feature on this site but we had to disable it as it was abused a lot, causing a lot of spam to our admin email account. If you see an article or comments on this site which you find offensive, please contact us at your convenience. |
