Hi all,
Due to a lack of activity on this site, I am planning to close it and take it offline in the next 3 weeks or so (by mid-July).
It all seemed like a good idea at the time – and it was! – certainly, it got the word out there about bad and ignorant driving, parking etc. as many newspapers, radio stations and even television stations had articles, interviews and panel discussions featuring myself and the site which helped get the message out there that certain people’s competence and attitudes behind the wheel just aren’t good enough any more.
With nearly a quarter of a million page views since the site launched last August, we’ve had some brilliant articles, some very entertaining videos and images and some very interesting polls on the site and it’s done its part in highlighting a problem we have here in Ireland – one that may be tackled somewhat by the stricter provisional license laws that are being implemented from next week on. Only time will tell on that one.
However there has been a drop in the number and quality of articles on the site of late and the number of visitors to the site has dropped dramatically in the past few months and unfortunately I no longer personally have the time to give to promote the site – so therefore I’ve decided to call it a day.
If someone is interested in taking over the site and domain name and breathing new life into it (hosting it yourself, of course), please contact me within the next 2 weeks.
Thanks to all of you who have contributed since the site opened last year. We’ve made our point!

Hi naill, sorry that you feel the need to close the site.I have enjoyed reading it, if i may i will take the chance to post a pic i took some time ago. thank you for the entertainment.

As said in the above 2 comments; it’s a shame to see this site being closed down. Though I do understand where you’re coming from with your reasons. I do hope probably someone else will revitalise this place up someday!

A shame for sure, maybe driving has improved sufficiently for this site to be closed down…
We just have to bring back the stocks for shite drivers to be displayed on the market square and be pelted with rotten fruit and veg.
It was fun being able to have a platform for the ordinary Joe Soap to write an article and have it on a major website in seconds, with pictures and in stereo!
Now all us grumps will just have to go back to writing cranky letters to newspapers that get ignored anyway or published on page 38.
I hope it continues and we can all get back to throwing cybertomatoes at each other, better than setting to the other parties car with a jackhandle
The ONLY positive is that the diatribes from John Smith will end!!!!!!!

Very sad to see the site go but appreciate your reasons for closing down.
Thanks for starting the ball rolling and maybe somebody out there will continue the good work you started.

The reason you are closing down is that in truth we are a nation of bad drivers encouraged by our Government and by a law enforcement agency that seems to get paid not to enforce the law. Instead of putting our hands up when we get a speeding ticket we look for loop holes in the law to get away with it. We follow in the footsteps of our political leaders , “when in a hole, keep digging”
we reward corruption by voteing them in again, so why are you surprised people are not bothered by bad driving. Up to recently we had 300,000 l plates on our roads, now we have 300,000 learners with no l plates on our roads.
Cleaning up my tangle of ‘favourites’ I came across this url. Way back in the day I used to come here. Alas I lost interest, primarily because the commentators were just getting boring e.g. “not all modifier enthusiasts are road hogs blah blah blah” “yes they are blah blah blah” and on and on. But my main bugbear was that THE FUCKING THING NEVER WORKED. There was always some technical issue, the reasons there were no comments for days on end was because of the technical inadequacies of the idiot running the site, the endless ‘did not upload’ message, fuck off. And now he is closing the site down cause no one came to his site no more…boohoo. Byeeeee. I’m off to run an inept web developer down.
Ken – thanks for your “constructive” comment. The site is still up and running as you can see, and I think it’ll be able to handle most legitimate traffic.
