why do drivers on dual carriageways and motorways insist on drivind in the outside lane when there is nobody using the inside lane. is this a macho thing. The rules of the road says that you use the inside lane except when overtaking or allowing trafic onto the carriage way from your left or in slow moving traffic. not to show how good you are by staying in the outside lane

i have a simple way of dealing with inconsiderate drivers i.e mentioned above ---150 watts rally blue halogen lights(off road use only)..... plus full beam (EC certifed, 55 watts ,type approved standard car fit)..in yer face ... if you crash after you`ve been blinded by me in a response for your inconsiderable/stupid driving ....well..F****r,you`ve only have yourself to blame..if you die --- tough ... one less idiot on the road(i am an idiot too... sometimes, but within the traffic act GB...) and i do not exceed speed limits, obey the highway code etc.. and my car is video equipped,i do carry first aid kit and trained to use it, have an advanced driver training and yes i only have my licence (uk) for five years ...
So why the fuck i have to put up with the idiots on the roads...
And remember speed limit is not a target..

Lights, thats a laugh. Drving on parking lights, are they mad. Then those that drive with front fog lights on during a downpour, all that glare, same goes for rear fog lights. Do they not have switches or an ounce of common sense. Then when its bad mist/fog they have none on. Ten cars passed me this morning with no lights on at all, when nothing was in front of me I gave a flash of my lights, no response what so ever. In my car lights are on all the time good old volvos. Fog light have to be switched on manually so not to hve them on permamently. You would think car show room would give them advice when buying the car

I agree that lack of awareness by people on the correct use of lights is a hugh problem on the roads. Sidelights are totally ineffective on our roads after dark and i often wonder how a driver can travel against a line of cars with there dipped lights on but not have a notion to use their own.
Another hugh problem is drivers using too many lghts, the amount of drivers who have their front fog lights on after dark is ridiculous. Fog light are there to be used in fog and as such are meant to be used as an aid to and sometimes instead of dipped lighting. It is almost impossible to see the road when the approaching car has both front fog lights and dipped lights on. It might look "cool" but its so inconsiderate to other road users. It appeares to be very much an Irish thing as well, i travel on the roads in the UK a fair bit and and this just doesn't happen over there. It might be true that a driver can see better with fogs and dipped lights on at the same time, the same would be true if people just went around with full lights on all the time. It doesn't make it right though. Come on people, give other drivers a break, turn the fogs off

And I drove from Charleville to Cork this morning with a car in front of me who had their rear foglights on the whole way. Some people couldn't find their own arse with both hands with the help of a map if it was on fire...
