Well I haven’t posted here in a while but here are some interesting things i have spotted over the last few days
I was driving to Dundalk and at the Ballymac roundabout north of Dundalk i came across an interesting sight a van with its side door open going around the roundabout which i thought was strange until i saw the cage within the van and a few greyhounds loving the air coming into the van! Crazy!
Another one was a taxi driver coming out of one of the country roads onto the R173 talking on the phone. I pay no attention to people on the phones but i don’t do it as my phone goes through my sat nav. So when the taxi driver was talking away on the phone and completely distracted as he pulled out onto the main road and continued to drive on the wrong side of the road for about 100yards! all my flashing and horn did seem to work and for him to move back onto the right side of the road! This is not the first time this has happen i was driving down Hoey’s lane in Dundalk about two months ago and another car did this!
Another one was coming out the back enterence of the Longwalk shopping centre heading up to the harp brewery when the car stopped for traffic lights so i stopped behind her. There was a line of about 8 cars so the woman in front decides to jump out of her car and go to talk to the car in front but by the time the woman got out the lights had changed and the car had started to move off so the woman started to chase the car (Priceless)
This happen me yesterday in Dublin one of the reasons i hate driving in Dublin. I was on Hume street stuck in traffic so i was not moving. Next thing i see is a scooter coming up beside me and a parked car. The gap was not big enough for him to fit through but did this stop him. NO! He continues on hitting my car with me in it and when i rolled down the window to stop him he drove off and didn’t care about my car! I got his reg plate so if there is damage to my car is it worth my while reporting him? It was too dark to check for damage and i don’t really care if there is damage there is ethics if you hit someone you stop! If you see an accident happen you stop!
Also again in Dublin last night not sure of the street name i just follow the sat nav. I was driving along and i was again stuck in traffic when a taxi driver is trying to cross the road and into the bus lane. I did not see him in time to stop and let him across which i would normally do but even though there was not enough space for him to get between me and the car behind me he still crosses the junction (Just to let you all know there was no yellow box and no traffic lights on this T Junction) So as the taxi still crossed the road i tried to move up as far as possible to about a few inches from the car in front but do you think he was happy about this. NO! he drives up beside me and starts shouting at me for not letting him out. (I normally wouldn’t stand for this as i was in the right and it seemed he collected ten tokens of crisps packets and he got a license for this. All i could do at him was laugh, he did not like this so he starting cutting in front of me when he was a bonnet length in front of me. No indicator or anything just the normal i have a yellow sign on my roof i know how to drive! Got his taxi number so i think taxi.ie will be getting a visit from me! This is not a taxi bashing exercise as most of the taxi drivers would wait till there was room for them to cross safely and not leave the arse of their car for oncoming traffic to hit!
