IM SICK AND TIRED OF WEST CORK LORRY DRIVERS!! You make my driving life hell. This submission is to explain why. Over the past year I have had some terrifying experiences in my travels around West Cork. I will list some of them as succinctly as I can.
Travelling up the Cousane Gap, cement truck in front of me starts to roll backwards because the lorry is 20 years old and cannot make it up the hill. Me and other drivers start to head for the ditches and blowing horns to alert driver to impending danger. Driver is oblivious and trying to have a conversation on his mobile.
Driving on the Adrigole road towards Castletownbere. Lorry with double trailer carrying a load of wood coming towards me, driving rain, high wind and I can see he is on his mobile. He is well over the white line of a narrow road. He makes no attempt to move over to his side of the road. I have to take evasive action and make shit of my tyre as a result.
West Cork Truck Drivers like to travel at around 30 kilometres an hour. When you try to pass them out some of them like to speed up. The do not understand that if you cannot maintain the speed limit, you should pull in to let other drivers past. This does not happen.
I was behind a lorry travelling to Glengarriff, lorry in front is carrying a load of scrap metal. The load is not covered and bits and pieces are starting to fall off! I flash my lights and try to warn the driver and he gives me the finger.
heres a novel idea truck drivers, why not get mud flaps for your vehicles? then I will be able to see where the hell im going when Im stuck behind you. Dont flick fag buts, empty coffee cups, sandwich wrapping etc on the road and try not to talk on your mobile whilst driving.
Thanks to all the donkeys, I mean truck drivers in west cork for making life hell for me and other drivers. See you in 2008 you ass*****!!
