This photo was taken on Sunday at Ivans Cross, Limerick 2 hours after the Sunday game had ended at the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick. I was stuck at the junction for 40 mins without moving once, the lights went dozens of times but we couldn’t move….why?
Because of the basic ignorance of Limerick drivers. A handful of drivers swamped the yellow box from the city side, then got stuck there so nobody could move at all. Lights changed over and over again and no-one could move because of these idiots. Worse again, A guard stood on the corner of Ivans and watched all this, I was so p**sed off that I let a roar at the guard to clear the yellow box. He eventually stepped out and forced them off the box and down to Coonagh roundabout.
People of Limerick, life would be so much more pleasant for all of us if you started opening your eyes and had some consideration for other road users. Also, could the Gaelic grounds please organize traffic clearance with the guards on such occasions. It’s embarrassing when you consider the Stad De France, Paris and surrounding traffic can be completely cleared in 10 minutes. I know it’s no comparison but you get my point I hope.

Oh God, how often have I moaned about the ignorance, selfishnes and basic unpleasentness of Limerick drivers!
Suicidal pedestrians, yellow boxes, what for?, any kind of markings on the road, sure aren't they pretty?
I'll only be a miiiinnaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!
And that's before we get onto people who basically abandon their cars in the middle of the road to buy an ice cream.
Why? Because the cops don't give a flying f**k!
So anything goes. In future, do as the romans. Block yellow boxes, park across 3 disabled spaces, abandon your car in the middle of the road at rush hour to buy a mars bar, if the road has 2 lanes, block both and if any cop challenges you, tell them "I'll only be a miiiinaaaaaa!"
And when it comes to schools, just hand me the shotgun and the cyanide now.
Mad Max would break down and cry, Arnie won't be back, Stallone, with his eye of the tiger would see the horror in advance and get back onto the plane, but we are stuck with it.
This is a city in total chaos, with no law enforcement whatsoever, so it's every man for himself. Have you ever driven in Bombay? It definitely helps. But nothing will quite prepare you for Limerick. If only there where more drive by shootings, we'd have something amusing to watch while stuck in traffic.
The Horror, the Horror!
Before ye go pointing the fingers at just Limerick people, it happens all over Eire. I'm from Limerick, and i agree that alot of them ar spanners, stand at the Parkway roundabout for a while to see the utter stupidity.
But, i also travedl to Cork, and it's apparent all the way there, in every town that has a yellow junction box, people are obviously colour and pattern blind!
But it's not just yellow boxes, it's general road usage, people are thick thick thick! Taking chances and what not! I think i'm going to start putting alot of stuff up here!!!
And one thing gets right at my goat, people that don't friggen indicate!!! It's not as if you have to stress youself to turn it on, so why can't people use it??? I think there should be penalty points for not indicating!!!
