I find it amusing to say the least, this new found fad, around some Limerick estates and through town, to see the youngfellas…. tracksuits of all the same colour, baseball caps, perfectly blinding white trainers. I affectionatly call them nackers!…. affectonatly.
But anyway! you know the boyos who go around with the all mouth attitude, 3 foot tall and can take on the world! The new fad I speak of, is them on bicycles! ahhh sure tiz great to see them out exercising right?
NO! these guys are demons, and ten times more dangerous than cars on the road! They pull wheelies like they are on motor bikes, cycle straight towards you as your driving on the road and dont get out of your way till the last second. I can get over it to a certain degree but it gets to a point where theres a car up ur arse and you have to slap on the brakes because of these guys going out of their way to block your way. What kills me is when they group together talking in the middle of a road in an estate and you drive up, and they just stand there, and take no notice of you!
What got me most was a few nights ago, in low light, there was a group of these ‘push bikers’ in town, the heart of the city in full flow traffic, weaving in and out of fast moving traffic, and causing a back up because people including myself, had to break hard to make sure not to hit them or other cars!
Do they not realise the damage a bike would do to a car if hit??…. Absolutely nothing!!! But they would be killed stone dead, and you would get the blame for killing one fo them, not for them causing the trouble!
I live in the countryside, I only commute into town, I would hate to have to live in the city, but where I live we dont have this?? and I have never seen it in town or in the estates iv been in only recently! Have any of you experienced this before?? it seems new to me and what I see happening is one of them being killed or a serious car accident happen as a result of them, and I bet they will just peddal off into the sunset and live happily ever after while some poor souls insurance goes through the roof, or worse….

eh lots of kids cycle bikes in estates… just watch the road dopey next time instead of demonising cyclists

I realise kids cycle bikes, are you daft?? but these (and they are not kids they are well over 16 ond old enough to know sence) they go out of their way to drive in front of you, they make it obvious that they are our to cause an acident! so watch who your calling dopey!

& I have to agree with you. What I have thought about doing is just as they're up beside the car as you're stuck in traffic open the door to fix your seat belt which is caught!
hehe I wish, see they get away with that carry on we dont! but I have been tempted! like I said to Disco chav, most of the kids are grand, they are just being kids and cycling bikes, but these, all male, over 16 and well old enough to know sence, they go out of their way to cause trouble and it looks to me like they would just love to get knocked down, and sue the ass off you! but what if they actually got killed by pulling these stunts in front of cars?? it drives me mad! and trust me, im mad enough!!
Reminds me of one time when, as a pedestrian, a car headed straight towards me, full throttle and full beams, out of nowhere. You're only supposed to see that from the comfort of your tv screen! Feckin shit meself! Now there's an idea…
I had someone like that in Corrib Park in Galway, he was carrying someone on the cross bar of his probably stolen bike and shaking his bike in front of me, now if i hit him, he would claim off me for thousands and i bet that is all that every young guy/ knacker is at so as soon as they turn 18 they can use the compenstaion money to buy their first civic!

Third provisional, give up taking test and hope nobody notices.

Travelling through Loughlinstown (south Dublin) the other day ,in moderate traffic when i cop an ambulance coming up behind in the bus lane ,..no problems until …there he is Mr "i'll cycle whereever i want "..ahead….now normally this doesnt bother me BUT ,and thats a great big BUTT when theres a fu**ing cycle lane not 4 feet away from the idiot….and the worst part was that the ambulance couldnt get by him and had to practically stop until a car let him pass…..if i had been driving the ambulance …well..what would you have done.??
I'd turn off the sirens; bring the volume full blast and then sound the horn to scare the nuts out of the biker (provided he's not deaf)
Although this would have implications on the surrounding drivers who obey the rules too hmm…
….well its an ambulance, he could have kept driving and looked after him afterwards!! LOL (JK) LOL!!
