Parking on a roundabout

Every morning i get the 8.30 bus to work which means all the yummie mummies are out in force bringing the sprogs to school, but never have i seen such laziness and stupidity in all my life as in Littlepace, Clonee. Now i don’t know if anyone on this is familiar with Littlepace but basically its like a gazillion houses all centred around one school, so this school is in the middle of this estate and all the kids that go to this school live in the estate but yet the parents insist on driving down to the school and abandoning their cars basically anywhere and everywhere!!!surely it has to take longer to load the kids in the car, drive the 10 metres to the school and then try to park, but recently they’ve all started a new craze of parking on the roundabout, (now i dont mean they’ve mounted the car onto the grass or anything) but they just stop the car on the road and go bring the kids in, now i do promise ill try get some photies of this because its just genius!!!

Oh do get sum photos of dat, now dats sumting I’d luv to see!! Unfortunately I’m in d predicament where I have to drive my kids to school, I live a 20min walk from their schools & I have 2 b in work by 9am so its more convenient to drive, but the madness I c when droppin my kids off is sumting else!! There are 3 primary schools, 2 secondary schools & a playschool all in the same block, which also happens to b right across the road from the train station! It is absolute bedlam dere in d morns as you can probably imagine!!

Hey, “lynharry”…. What’s with the text speak? How I can understand using “d” instead of “the” and “c” instead of “see” when you’ve only got ten buttons on the phone shoved in the arse pocket of your pink velour tracksuit, but you’ve got 100+ keys on a computer keyboard…. And want’s with the wannabe skanger spelling? You can spell “predicament” and “convenient”, but words like “something”, “that” and “there” are beyond you?

Grumpy Shite Driver….get a grip seriously, this website was set up to discuss bad driving not to stereotype people just because they text speak, if thats the case half of the country must be going around in a pink velour tracksuit…including the men.

Yes, pictures please! Though you will be amazed how fast the roundabout will clear at the sight of a camera. And wear handbag proof garments!

GSD: I agree, very difficult to read, should be as easy or easier to type actual proper words!

Spot on Lynharry. Either leave a useful comment to the above post or go back to the phone in the insurance callcenter you work in, where you can play footie with the boss while posting irrelevant shite on this website. Find some forum about furniture where you can bore people to tears with your stupid, irrelevant, nonsensical garbage. Are you a 6 year old? Do you need attention? Well, post something worthwhile and we might even not ignore it.

Again GSD get a grip and if you insist on leaving a comment please just talk about the topic in hand which is (just incase during all of your ranting you’ve forgotten) BAD DRIVING!

Over the festive season the Gardai are out in force ‘assisting’ us in our journeys across the metropolis but why in the name of Christ are they posted on roundabouts???? That is probably one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever seen on Irish roads. Oh… that and people who think it’s perfectly OK to cruise in the middle lane of a 3 lane motorway…

Some of the above comments have be removed.

Some of those which proceeded in the thread still remain and will not be removed at this time unless the thread is taken up again.

Please stick to the topic of the original post when commenting. Take the advice offered by Gemmat above – twice.

If you have a topic you would like to discuss that is not driving related, take it elsewhere.

Parking on the a roundabout, just come to Athlone and you can stop at the Crestent as people drop in for there paper, or go to the one on the Dublin road that turns into the Shopping centre and watch as the new people just stop and leave the car. yes this is the new Ireland where L is as good as passport, where we have two laws one for us who call the land ours and one for them who now call themselves new Irish. Ok so now you are saying to yourself his one of them who does not like change, well you are wrong, all i want is the Law to be used right and all be looked at the same way.

I am told by a friend in the southwest ……..On the Childers Road in Limerick at the Roxboro roundabout a white car is to be found each day parked ON the roundabout while the children are crossing after school. The children cross within 6 feet of this car. The Gardai – if they ever appear – drive on by. Is this a “plain clothes” vehicle or just someone with special privileges to put children at risk. Ring Henry Street Grda Station to find the answer.
