Is it just me, or are there others affected by this?
I agree that security firms have to collect money from banks and they will have to be reasonably close to do so.
But is it really necessary to almost block the road? This is actually not the worst example, but it is on a very busy road outside the Ennis main Post Office. I’m writing this because this is not a once off, but happens almost daily on several streets in Ennis for as long as I have been driving here and people are tired of it. I certainly am.
The Post Office is a vast free for all in general, with people randomly abandoning their cars at will and disappearing into the night, blissfully unaware of the complete chaos they’re causing. And it is indicative of the general standard of driving in Ennis, which has reached levels of rudeness, arrogance and general pigheadedness that are just beyond believe.
It appears that a lot of drivers can’t think past their own nose, let alone their own bonnet.
That Securicor guy sure was pissed though…

Do you get your money in a bank? How do you think the money gets into the bank to facilitate you? The ‘shite drivers’ park illegally in designated loading bays, so when cash vans arrive they can’t park at their designated spot! Cash vans have priority at banks and financial institutions.
Good point, I deliver myself and how often (90% of the time) is the loading bay full with mammies that went off shopping for their brats.
Problem is, cash vans get priority, delivery vans seem to think they have it, the bin collectors certainly have it, the Guinness truck, council vans, post, ESB and everyone else vaguely connected with work as well.
Result: Total gridlock in Ennis on a daily basis, coupled with cars double parked and no one’s going anywhere.
Everyone says “I’m more important than everyone else, therefore I should be entitled to block this road”.
And most of the time there’s ample room 10 meters down the road, but everyone is always found in the exact same spot, obviously the heavens would fall had people to walk 5 steps.
When I go into Ennis the town is at a standstill most times. The design of the town doesn’t help and none of the towns 3 dozen traffic wardens can be found when someone (anyone) abandons their vehicle in the middle of the road.
So, next time I’m in town I will do what everyone else does.
Abandon my car in the middle of the road.
After all, I am in the very important business of maintaining office technology for some pretty important companies in and around Ennis, after all I should get priority then?
“WHY is my name Req, wheres YOURS?”
Funny name that, can I call you Why?
But also, very important point:
Parnell Car park has been turned into a taxi rank and Dunnes Stores car park halved in size, creating a dropoff in available car parking spaces in Ennis of about 25%.
This drives many drivers (me included) to desperation until you finally have to say “f**k this, I’ll just abandon it here”
When you visit Ennis, park your car on the moon.
