Yarg, I once saw a golf, it was 2 spaces wide!

 Badly Parked Golf

Spotted this classic example of how not to park in Ballinteer shopping centre, will people never learn?

And judging from the damage to the boot, the driver’s a serial offender..

pictures should be posted to show how stupid irish drivers are.this web site will be full in no time. bad manners is ripe on the roads. its a culture thing and will only change when people are shown up in public.

The problem here is that unless you show the index number, then the driver is not being shown up in public. Only they will recognise their own vehicle – and they don’t give a s**** anyhow.
Is it legal to show an identifiable vehicle online if an offence is involved?
Some legal eagle advice please. [free maybe!!]

Ceanna Claar – I don’t really care whether its illegal or not, I’m not taking an chances – any car registration number or any identifying marks like peoples faces etc that are shown on this site will be deleted.

Even worse than this. I was there the other day and some fat bearded guy was hanging out the window of his micra.

He was driving and at the same time trying to take a picture of someone that was parked incorrectly on his camera phone.

I do this all the time. It is not bad driving, it is merely caution.

I drive an expensive car and when I park it I don’t want some stupid cow or some fat fool parking beside me and flinging their door open and taking a lump out of my paintwork. Parking evenly in the middle of two spaces is a good way to hedge against this risk.

@cheap international calls – “it is merely caution” You know what else stops your car getting scratched? Covering it in bubble wrap and leaving it in the garage.

Parking this way HALVES the number of available spaces, so you’re inconveniencing a hell of a lot of people, which basically makes you ignorant as hell.

Sometimes I park in handicapped spaces. I feel the luxury of extra space to open my doors and having a spot closer to the shops is worth the dirty glances.

Culchie should know that these spaces are now generally referred to as disabled nowadays

In these situations I take pleasure in parking right up against the drivers door if the adjoining space is free. It just gives something extra to offset the time stolen by supermarket checkout queues.

I was parked up in B&Q in Belgard last week & some arsehole White van driver actually parked diagonally across three car spaces…When he returned i said “nice parking” to which he replied “go fuck yourself”…no dealing with retards like that, its in their breeding. I drive a big commercial vehicle myself & always check to see that i’m not obstructing anyone,it all about courtesy…something thats lacking in Irish society today.

Steven, if you don’t make them think about the error of their ways they’ll never change. nothing nasty or permenent just inconvenience.

taking up two spaces annoys me too and i never do it when im using my van ( Fiat Scudo ) however when im using my car (Porsche 911) then thats a different story because if i had a tenner for every time some ignorant idiot banged their door off my car id be extremely wealthy.. i parked in the Crescent S.C. in Limerick one day and while i was returning to my car i saw a lady exit her car and slapped the door off my drivers door. When I confronted her she denied it and got highly indignant when i said i was going to call the Gardai. I called the guards and they said it was my word against hers. It cost me €1800 to fix the damage.. Mind you i have her reg and car make and should i ever see her car parked with a vacant space beside it while i’m driving my van then she just might end up with a bit of a dent just like she gave me….

C’mon Culchie, I can see right through you.
No point posting stuff just to raise an argument.
Pretending to be a fat, ignorant farmer and how much you don’t care.
I bet you are a banker from Dublin and you have your own personal parking space for your black Merc E200 in the banks own underground car park.

And cheap international calls probably is the driver of above Golf.

When someone parks like that and you deliberately block them in they will usually make sure they damage your car in some way when they pull out.
A black Ka was parked very badly at TK Maxx in Limerick. I parked beside her, making sure that I was parked correctly. When I came back she was gone and i had a fat black scratch along the side of my car.
I didn’t take the reg (though judging from above that’s pointless anyway), there was no security and no CCTV.
    The lesson is this.
Be a pig. Do what you want. There’s no law against being ignorant and discourteous. And if you’re not caught in the act, the guards won’t care. And even if you are, they still won’t.
It’s the people who are patient, courteous and respectful of other drivers that are the real losers here.

There was an underground car park I used to use a lot, except it was very full all the time and difficult to find a space. There was one car there every day parked across two spaces. One day I stuck a note on the screen saying “if you persist in parking across two spaces we will have to charge you for both”, as if it was put there by the car park people. The car was always just parked in one space after that.

Well hello, I’m new to this website but contrary to my name, I dont have a 1997 vauxhall corsa which is two centimetres off the ground with all kinds of bells and whistles on it… I just like the ring of it. Anyway, parking, parking, tut tut. Parking over two spaces is downright fucking infuriating, inconsiderate and the remit of idiots. Its done by those tits who lack imagination and have small willies/breasts. Next time, ring up you mate/wife/mistress with their car and box dat bastard in… “oh I’m sorry, I was in a rush/didn’t see/fuck-off…” I’ve heard it all before. You DID see, you just didn’t give a shite. Oh and Culchie, you outta burn in hell for the disabled manouevre. I’d kick you firmly in da balls and give you a reason.

If car parks had bigger spaces then people would not park at angles. Take the new Marshes car park in Dundalk, all the spaces are really small. If you park in a box with a big car, some fool parks beside you and lets the kids kick open the back doors and whack it off your car. Their door does not get the damage as its the edge of their door that hits my door. It dents the car and removes the paint. The Marshes car park is massive and they could have made bigger spaces as I have never seen it half full ever.
They make the wheel chair spots the correct size, to allow the doors of cars to be opened fully without hitting the car beside them.
When you are paying on a brand new car and some old banger parks beside it and damages it, you cant blame folk for parking awkward.
I say to people – park at an angle and they might cop on and do proper size boxes.
Like its not if its a free car park. At €1 an hour, I think they could make bigger boxes and stop scrimping
