Now here’s a prime example of ignorance… picture taken outside McCreesh’s Avenue Stores on Avenue Road here in Dundalk.
I had just jumped into my car getting ready to leave when this guy pulled in behind me. I took the picture (through my rear window) as soon as he pulled in, and he then proceeded to reverse back about 4 feet into the middle of the yellow box! – which marks out the entrance/exit to the shop’s car park.
He parked there, got out and went into the shop. When he noticed me watching him on his way, he shrugged and said “I know, I know… sure I’m only going to be 5 minutes”.
Idiot.

Really the cheek, everybody knows, boxjunctions and double yellow lines are reserved for BMW’s, Mercedes and SUV’s

The problem is that no-one will get out of their car and make someone, like that man, go back and move his.
And if they did, it’ll probably be called assault.
Still though, I don’t find this as annoying as those who don’t indicate… roundabouts… changing lanes.. even turning.
Oh my god. Don’t get me started on yellow boxes. I swear, so many people in this country don’t even know wht a yellow box is!! There’s one directly outside our housing estate and it’s near impossible to get out of the estate at any time because people constantly park on it. I often wish i was a member of the gardai so i could get out of my car and give them penalty points & a good telling off!! Stupidity at its highest!!
Check out this yellow box at the end of Bridge Street in Cork. Cars blocked traffic coming from the city center!
what is the problem with people parking inbetween the white lines in car parks is it they cant drive or they are just too ignorant to give a toss it seems there is some sort of competition to see who can take up the most number of spaces with one car.
I once came back to the car to find that I was after parking across 2 parking spaces and a disabled spot! It was so funny!!!
Sure if he was only going in somewhere from 5mins, why didn’t he use the perfectly good disabled driver spot right beside the yellow box? That’s what they’re for isn’t it?
In Tralee, in County Kerry, there appears to be a yellow box junction which is reserved for parking. This is at the junction of Rock Street and Pembroke Street. Just a few metres from the Garda Station I am told. I must go see – as the Americans say. How many vehicles can it accommodate? Anyone in Tralee know?
Wat a sad bastard u are..Im from dundalk and u havent seen nothing..U think thats bad driving?? U should be in town every night of the week after 12 o clock..All us boy racers in our fast powerful cars do anything from takin chase from the cops on the armagh road to doing donuts in town and boyds car park. ! We love it.! Cowboys dont care ! Yee haa !!

I hope your mother knows your using her computer and has only given you access to some websites. Maybe she thought this was a good one for you to learn the correct rules of the road and how GROWN UPS act. For a comment like that to come from someone I can only presume your the passanger in that boy racer care and your not actually old enough to brush your teeth!!!!
I saw beauty last night travelling from Nangor rd across Long Mile Rd junction, due to heavy traffic on the Naas rd vehicle were unable to cross the junction so what does this headcase in front of me do reverses out of the car lane back on to the yellow box for the Luas line a much safer place to be I reckon.
i live along the armagh road in dundalk that the “boy racer” lives to take chase down and i can truly justify it because it is a very regular occurance and can be very hazardous as it is a narrow enough road and a crash could occur very soon!Also they use the local church for “donuting” which is very dangerous…incredibly bad driving and seriously dangerous…only leads to death…
Me and my boyfriend went to mcgeoughs bar in dundalk and wen we came back to the car someone had parked long ways blocking our car totally in….. for a half an hour no one came, finally a little geeky chap appeared and slowly got into the car n moved i swear to god he is so lucky i didnt ram him.. if thats not cheek i dont no wat is…

Yeah… it took so much time out of my working day snapping a photo on my way home of some ignorant git who parked on a yellow box. Yeah… oh Jason and Paddy, you’ve really got me thinking and examining just how I’m wasting my life by not rushing around in a souped up piece of crap car with fins and playstation 2 logos and a blue light glowing from underneath. … Yeah.

Niall you have all the hard work done with your photographs and all. Next stop the Guards Barracks and a reserve uniform? One visit to court and you would have that fella sorted out for good. It would give the Guards more time to chase real criminals on the highways and byeways.
