When I signed up to this blog I didn’t expect to be posting so soon. I should have known better. I spend enough time on the road to know not a day goes by without seeing a shite driver or ten.
Picture this. A yellow van pulling a generator stopped at one of the roundabouts at an exit on the N7. I’m next in line. In my mirror I see an 07 reg jeep coming at high speed from behind. Jesus, will it stop? Will it be able? It did.
The traffic on the roundabout clears and the van pulls on. Slowly. Those generators are heavy. I follow. A glance in the mirror. Where’s the jeep? Did it go left down the cul-de-sac? No. No sign.
There he is! Heading anti-clockwise around the roundabout. He’s over the far side of the bridge before the van or I are off the roundabout. Next roundabout – anti-clockwise again.
I follow the jeep down into the village. It stops at the bookies and two oldish men get out. You know the types – long grey comb-overs and greasy-elbowed jackets. Do you realise what you did back there? What? You went the wrong way around two roundabouts. Oh, shur it’s miles the other way. There wasn’t an’thin’ comin’. Where’s the harm?
I’m dumbfounded. He sees nothing wrong in what he did.
I pop into the cop shop and give the sarge the reg number and description. Right so. Thanks for that. Are you not going to talk to him? He’s still down at the bookies? Ah, shur no point. I didn’t see him meslef.
I give up.

Be brave and cite the reg number so we can vote on the stupid driver of the month.
I think citing reg numbers or displaying them in pics is prohibited for legal reasons, Bernie?
Am I wrong, Niall?
But, fek yeah, I’m all for a Shite Driver of the Month award.
Just to be sure, yes – I’d rather people not post pictures in which cars are or people are clearly identifiable so for now, anway, obscuring the reg number or people’s faces in pictures before posting them is the way to go.
Hi All
Please drive slower an cooler. Life is good so live it
as long as you can. Boy racers are small penised gobshites.
God Bess you all
Hi All
Last Item. If if takes the average boy racer twenty seconds to go from 0-60 (brain fuctions) How long does it take him to find his zip? Answer just follow the wet patch!
Slow down, keep, cool stay alive.

Sure they’ll learn when they’re dead. I just hope they don’t take anyone with them.
Same road today (M 1) NORTH approx 12.50pm just south of Dunleer. traveling at 120kph inside lane. Idiot parked on hard shoulder in a silver Rover 600. when i came within 100mtrs of he pulled straight out in my path. no indication no nothing. Funny thing this is the 2nd time this driver did this to me at the same place in about two weeks.
My friend in the southwest tells me this story. Week after week my friend traveled the same winding N-class road to work. Week after week – early in the morning – my friend is overtaken by this boy racer in a yellow Punto. On bends, on double lines – wherever and whenever. In 11 years never a Garda car seen on the stretch of road between 6am and 7am. Never. So boy racer continues on month after month doing his 120 kph trip to work.
Then one morning he hit the ditch and died.
Would he be alive today if he even suspected that a Garda might some day discover his speeding? He never saw one on that stretch of road. So why bother slowing down. Why bother indeed.
If staying alive is no incentive then worrying about an invisible Garda sure as hell is not an incentive either.
At least he died alone and no innocent victim of our dreadful system joined him in death.
very sad

Drivers who killed three while racing are jailed
By Stewart Payne
Last Updated: 6:49am BST 30/08/2007
Two motorists who raced each other like “mad men” in their high-performance cars and caused a crash in which three pensioners were killed were each jailed for seven years yesterday.
The pair did not know each other but became involved in a race when one out-accelerated the other at traffic lights.
From then on, Adrian Kuti, 42, in his Porsche Cayenne, and Richard Cherry, 31, in his Toyota Celica, weaved through traffic, overtaking, undertaking and tailgating at speeds of up to 100mph until Kuti smashed into a Proton on the A217 near Banstead in Surrey.
Joan Harp, 78, and her passengers Joan Clover and Kathleen Deards, both 83, died. Elsie Galagher, 88, survived but will never fully recover from her injuries.
The Porsche’s on-board computer showed that it was travelling at 80mph at the moment of impact, double the speed limit for the road. Two of the Proton’s occupants were propelled 40 yards through the air by the force of the collision.
Kuti, a construction worker from Cheam, and Cherry, a quantity surveyor from Carshalton, Surrey, who were both on their way home from work, were said to have driven like “mad men”. Judge Neil Stewart said they were equally responsible for the consequences of their actions. They had been found guilty of three counts of causing death by dangerous driving following a week-long trial and returned to be sentenced at Guildford Crown Court yesterday.
In addition to the jail term both were disqualified from driving for six years.
Kuti had been jailed for five years in 1992 for a road rage attack where he sprayed ammonia in the face of another driver after an argument at traffic lights.
Cherry had no criminal record but had six points on his licence for speeding.
Primal Sneeze,
I heard the EDITED version of this incident on the radio from Niall. Why did he not give this version or identify the location of the incident or the Garda Station ? Did it really happen ? Did he witness it or did he hear it from a reliable source ?
Did anyone make a written statement of complaint to the Guards or not ? The Guard was well within his rights to take the line he did if nobody was willing to make a writtten statement for future legal proceedings.
Sad but true for very sound legal reasons.
Miaowww, have you made it your mission to comment on every topic on this site?
Why did I not give this version?… Well I didn’t have the website or a printout of it handy when I was standing in the middle of a shopping centre talking to the radio presenter. Why did I not identify the location of the incident or the Garda station? Because that wasn’t important to the interview – I was just giving an example of what kind of stories could be found on the site.
And why are you asking if *I* witnessed it? Of course I didn’t – it’s primal sneeze’s story, not mine!
Re primalsneeze and displaying reg numbers….
AFAIK it can’t be taken as an offence to display pictures with reg numbers since the internet is a public domain, just like in real life! If you see their reg on their car in the street are you causing an offence? Nope!
Otherwise all sorts of scum would be getting away with murder if you saw them driving like a twat in their car and took down their number so you could pass it to the police – who then turn round and say “oooh sorry sir, you’ve infringed on this fanny’s Human Rights, would you like to come this way?”
Post pics far and wide, name and shame these muppets!!
http://www.barryboys.co.uk have had their fair share of threats over posting numberplates, but they’ve been going for years! (its a website to laugh at piss-poorly modded cars)

clearly you didnt take the time to read the thread.
You shoulda rang the Garda Trafic Watch phone number. I think they follow up any of that kind of thing pretty well. I have a mate that got dobbed in for overtaking on a continuous white line. I think he got points.
Richie – I went into the Garda station. Was that not the same thing?
But perhaps you are right: The lad I spoke to (I learned later) had a more serious issue to deal with, so I don’t feel wronged by being fobbed off on that occasion, but it may have been dealt with better by Traffic Watch.
Primalsneeze
Yea its shite alright. Not sure but with Traffic Watch, you have to give evidence in Court to see a prosecution follow – that has obvious implications. I mean, could I be arsed? Could the perpetrator turn out to be a axe-murderer if I grass him up? Does any of ye know what the deal is with Traffic Watch? Don’t answer, I don’t care. I havent heard anything good out of it yet. Someone told me the Danes have set up a Public website where you can type in someones reg following some shite driving, up pops their contact details and you can ring them up for an ear-bashing – straight up! No doubt the liberal weenies here would have kittens if Minister ‘Lightning Noel’ Dempsey punted that on before the Dail… I think it’s great the way our european contemporaries have this kind of thing, it’s how it should be… dickhead goes around roundabout wrong way times two, and you ring him up later to call him to explain what a tool he is…
