Never drive around the roads in Ravensdale north of Dundalk.

Speed limit 80kph you would be stupid to do this as every corner you turn there is a horse!

Have people every heard of fields????

He wasn’t, he was in the passenger seat.

If you’re concerned about where the pictures were taken from, he was holding the camera (phone) in his right hand near the middle of the front of the car and the car was either not moving or moving very slowly at the time.

Now that’s a good point…. Fair enough jockeys need to give some horses roads experience. This should be done with someone driving in front and behind them with becon lights flashing and also be in broad day light. Imagine a poor unfortunate person that might run into the jockey and horse and badly hurt them or in fact kill them both. I think people just don’t care.

sorry bfwasher if that is your real name
he is of that ilk.. you believe the bad press that some riding gear makes a professional rider.. if he had a helmet id agree.. he doesnt and if you ride a horse you will know its absolutely essential to wear a helmet on the road and as a jockey myself i dont know anybody who doesnt wear a helmet unless he is a “cousin”
sorry but thats a fact.. even in beautiful tralee…
the fact remains that he didnt mind holding up traffic. no road training for this lad..
everybody should report where this happens and we might develop a pattern or an area in the country where it happens a lot..

Back to people on horses. Picture this… My partner and I were driving on the back roads from Courtnacuddy (Near Enniscorthy) to Ballyhogue in County Wexford. It was just nine O Clock on Friday night. Now we were not doing the full speed limit for the area but we were going fast enough. All of a sudden, out of no-where what we thought were lots of people walking were actually two people riding two horses! It all happened so quickly! Both horses we of dark colour and not one of the jockeys had any description of light clothing on them, We only saw them because the back log of cars behind them went to over take them but then at the nick of time saw that we were coming in the other direct and all of a sudden there was a screeching of brakes. We were both so shocked it took a good few seconds for us to say anything to each other. I suppose we all need to expect everything on the roads now. No-one thinks anymore so weâ€™ll all in danger of either killing someone or been killed ourselves.
Please everyone just taken extra extra care and arrive alive.

i see by the lack of head wear he wasnt too bothered about personal safety and his contempt for same would reflect his attitude to car drivers who happened to be piled up behind him.. i am sure every horse rider in the country would agree with me about the state of this fellow who as it happens looks like somebody out of “into the west”.
i rest my case..
sorry for you troubles but you have more then he will ever have so remember that next time you are opening the door to you house.
